Love Lane Pigs is a small husband and wife enterprise based on the outskirts of Richmond, North Yorkshire.

We set out to produce pork that actually tasted of pork, that made good crackling with no fuss and that we could serve to our friends and be proud of.

Our aim at Love Lane Pigs is to produce quality pork in the most natural way we can. The pigs we rear are traditional, rare breeds such as Gloucester Old Spot that are free to roam in our two acre woodland on the banks of the River Swale. They grow in a calm, natural, spacious environment with their peers where they are free to behave the way they want to. As well as eating the woodland plants and undergrowth, they are fed on left over stock from the local greengrocers, supplemented where necessary on low protein feed with no additives to promote growth – our pigs grow and put on weight at their speed, not at the rate which ensures the greatest profit. We don’t rush the growth process of our pigs because we believe that slow reared pork is as tasty as it comes.

Once you’ve eaten slow reared, succulent pork with proper crackling you will never eat supermarket meat again.

Don’t take their word for it, call or e-mail us and see for yourself.  We sell pork and sausages from our freezers, or we can arrange for you to buy your pork in advance - you could even come and see it in our woods down at Easby!

We can cater for a single joint, up to a whole pig, one of our best sellers is a quarter pig, which gets you a good selection of pork for the freezer for far less than the cost of the individual joints – top quality pork for near supermarket prices.  If buying in advance, you can even tell us how you’d like your meat and we’ll do our best to get our butcher to meet your requirements.
